Through Her Lens is back for its 11th edition, and ready to boost the next class of emerging filmmakers.
The annual three-day program, supported by Chanel and Tribeca, champions female and nonbinary filmmakers through a lineup of workshops, conversations and industry mentorship. Each year, participants — selected through an application process — are given the opportunity to pitch their projects to a jury, with one team awarded full funding to produce a short film. Four additional projects will receive developmental grants from Tribeca Studios.
The 2026 jury includes Meg Ryan, Halle Berry, Regina King, Autumn Durald Arkapaw and Ella Rubin. Industry mentors for the program include Celine Song, Aleshea Harris, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Fala Chen and Gina Prince-Bythewood.
Conversations will be led by creatives working across different film departments, from directing to music, casting, costumes and production. H.E.R, Laura Karpman, Miyako Bellizzi, Patty Jenkins, Cassandra Kulukundis and Riva Marker are all part of this year’s lineup.
Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program was established in 2015, and has since developed fifth short films. Notable alumni include Sundance breakouts like “A Thousand and One” director A.V. Rockwell and “Nanny” director Nikyatu Jusu, whose next film “Mime” is currently in development with Sony Pictures.
