I keep a couple of different grippers (including these) in my kitchen for when I’m struggling, but when those don’t work I’m back to sticking the jar under hot running water until it finally opens. That’s why I’m eyeing Uncommon Goods’ Easy-Grip Jar Opener. With this in hand, I think my days of using the hot-water trick could finally be behind me.
What You Should Know About Uncommon Goods’ Easy-Grip Jar Opener
This jar opener is a cinch to use — literally! It’s got a long handle with a band at the end that you can make tighter, so all you have to do is place it around the jar, cinch it until it’s snug, lock it in place, and then twist. Easy peasy! Plus, it has an arrow at the end of the handle, so you always know which way to twist.
Not only is it easy to use, but it can also accommodate a variety of jars with lids as small as a 2-centimeter diameter (about the size of a bottle of vanilla extract’s lid) or as large as a 10-centimeter diameter (like the lid on a canister of oats). One Uncommon Goods reviewer called it “the best jar opener I have ever found,” so I would happily pay $25 to try it for myself (and hopefully never fight a losing battle with a lid again).
