Forget the Red Carpet. At Cannes, the Best Style is at the Airport

2026 Cannes Film Festival has reached the end of its run—but before any of the attendees even hit the Croisette, they first walked the runway—the Nice Airport runway, that is.

Over the past several years, the Nice Airport has become a prelude to the fashions that hit the famed red carpet. In many cases, it’s even a chance for brand ambassadors to fulfill their contracts by sporting a brand’s latest goodies. Last year, Pedro Pascal touched down in Cannes dripped out in Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato weave, while Isabelle Huppert rocked Balenciaga’s telltale oversized sneakers.

We’ve seen some sneaky branding in the celebrity airport dressing. Diego Calva arrived in the coastal city wearing a full Ferragamo pre-fall 2026 look—including a pair of leather pants that might not be everyone’s first choice to fly in—while certified Gucci girl Alia Bhatt paired a black Jackie bag with her Carolina Herrera capri set. Michael Fassbender kept that energy in a Bottega blousson with a subtler intrecciato collar.

Bags are also top of mind at the airport. While many of the attendees get a hand with their bulkier suitcases, their carry-ons are certainly of note. Fassbender matched his jacket with a maroon Bottega duffle, while Julia Louis Dreyfus chose a small cross-body. Huppert and Havana Rose Liu, meanwhile, both toted Balenciaga City bags. As for Team Louis Vuitton, Charles Melton slung a duffle across his chest, while Cate Blanchett opted for a subtle, monogrammed suitcase.
