Carolina Herrera Kicks Off the Summer in London

It’s been an exciting start of summer for Carolina Herrera.

After a few years of traveling abroad for destination runway shows in Madrid (spring 2026), Mexico City (resort 2025) and Rio de Janeiro (resort 2024), the American brand has been pushing strongly into the United Kingdom, evidenced by its two London-based events last month.

After launching his resort 2027 collection, filled with colorful blooms and debut denim jeans, in early June, global creative director Wes Gordon traveled to the British capital to celebrate the launch of Net-a-porter and Herrera’s exclusive summer capsule collection. In addition, Herrera and Harrods hosted an intimate client dinner the same month.

“For Carolina Herrera fashion, London represents one of our most important strategic markets for our brand and business. It’s the ultimate luxury gateway to the international consumer, serving as a crossroads where discerning travelers and local clients meet. Establishing a strong presence here with meaningful initiatives and connecting directly with those women who want to engage with our collection and meet Wes, are of the utmost priority,” Emilie Rubinfeld, Herrera’s president, fashion, told WWD.

“Carolina Herrera has long represented the very best of modern elegance, and Wes Gordon continues to evolve the house in a way that feels both timeless and incredibly relevant for today’s woman. We’re proud to partner on this capsule, which beautifully captures this essence of the house,” Heather Kaminetsky, Net-a-porter’s chief executive officer, added.

Hosted by Gordon and Kaminetsky, the June 24 event began aboard the iconic British Pullman, A Belmond Train, at Victoria Station in London. There the likes of Poppy Delevingne, Ikram Abdi, Saffron Hocking, Erin O’Connor, Naomi Smart and Net-a-porter clients hopped aboard the train in the house’s signature florals and feminine prints, including the new exclusive Carolina Herrera for Net-a-porter polka-dot fashions, and enjoyed a scenic two-hour ride through the English countryside.

“The polka-dot print is a significant part of our heritage here at Carolina Herrera, featuring in the very first collections in 1981. When I designed this capsule collection with Net-a-porter, I wanted to nod to this foundational print and to ultimately create dresses that feel beautiful and fun,” Gordon said of the seven-piece collection.

As seen on the event’s VIP guests, the capsule collection features four navy cotton-blend twill dresses and one midi skirt with white polka dots; a white cotton-blend wrap top (a nod to Herrera’s signature white shirt), and a navy tea-length dress with subtle cutouts and bow-embellished back. The capsule collection, priced $990 to $3,690, is available to shop exclusively on Net-a-porter.

The guests rode inside the Audrey carriage, which is renowned for carrying the British Royal Family, and the Perseus carriage, which formed part of Winston Churchill’s funeral train in 1965. Throughout the ride, guests were treated to entertainment from magician Katherine Mills and a breakfast service, complete with branded decor, before arriving at their private luncheon’s destination at Gusbourne Estate in Kent.

While at the vineyard, guests were driven in bespoke polka-dot carts to the estate’s vineyard-set, three-course luncheon, which featured not only the venue’s sparkling wine, but also sweet lemon sorbet treats — perfect for cooling off amid the record-breaking heat.

“The successful collaboration with Net-a-porter was the ideal project perfectly aligned with our London ambition. Heather and the Net-a-porter team have expertly crafted the art of experience and brought client engagement truly to the next level,” Rubinfeld said.
