We’ve had butter nails and sky blue manicures dominating our Pinterest pages all spring long—now, pistachio nails are making everyone nutty for the next summery pastel shade.
Green nails have long been trending, though. According to Fresha, we’ve been going mad for mint green nails (up 236%), matcha green (by 123%), and now, pistachio green nails (by 171%).
Of the three, the easiest to pull off is undoubtedly pistachio: it’s a creamy, understated pastel green, one that’s a surprisingly versatile neutral shade compared to the others, without losing any vibrancy. The gelato-esque shade perfectly complements all skin tones.
Pistachio has been all over the fashion and beauty spheres: from Victoria Beckham to Dries Van Noten and Miu Miu’s runways, to the uptick in salty, sweet, sumptuous pistachio-scented perfumes.
Pistachio nails reflect the current trend towards more understated and minimalist beauty looks. Soft colors and pastel shades have experienced a resurgence—yes, pastels reign supreme every spring and summer, but the nutty green shade is particularly potent this year.
It’s also the perfect shade switch-up for anyone who has stayed loyal to their neutrals and nudes, but wants a seasonal refresh.
