A$AP Rocky’s fashion brand AWGE returned to Paris for a politically charged “surprise” show ahead of his concert at the Accor Arena in eastern Paris, with his partner Rihanna arriving shortly after the show started.
Spelled out as Anti War Global Economics for spring 2027, the collection offered plenty of street-meets-formal hybrids packed with military references.
A slouchy bomber came with a Brandenburg jacket front, a trenchcoat was fitted with a blown-up, concealed-weapon-holster-like design, and a backless evening gown was styled with a chunky belt dangling with bags that could double as grenade pouches.
In a move that most reflected his state of mind, the rapper sent down a model wearing a rubber cape and a gas mask while pushing a pram, and offered bags in the shape of a jerrycan.
Backstage, he talked about the show being a personal commentary on current affairs. “With all of the things happening right now from Ukraine, Russia, Palestine, America, and ICE. So much controversy and tragedy, even things in Africa. I thought it was just appropriate to kind of like make some type of correlation to it,” he added.
Despite the clear sense of rage, he hailed the collection as being both “conceptual and executed properly.” Truth be told, swapping those war references with Chanel accessories, the collection had plenty to offer for making great street-style moments.
