Bergdorf Goodman Will Have Exclusive U.S. Launch and Window Display for Antonin Tron’s Debut Balmain Collection

Bergdorf Goodman will mark the arrival of Antonin Tron’s debut fall 2026 collection for Balmain with a one-month exclusive retail launch in the U.S. and the unveiling of a set of windows at the flagship in New York.

Antonin Tron‘s appointment as creative director marks the beginning of a transformative shift at Balmain, and Bergdorf Goodman is thrilled to partner with the house to usher in this new era,” said Tracy Margolies, the retailer’s president. “Bergdorf Goodman and Balmain share a commitment to championing craftsmanship, innovation and artistry, which is celebrated in this window takeover that offers our customers a unique opportunity to experience Balmain’s renewed vision through an immersive retail experience and an extraordinary collection.”

Matteo Sgarbossa, chief executive officer of Balmain, said, “Our long-standing partnership with Bergdorf Goodman continues to be an important part of Balmain’s presence in one of the world’s most influential luxury retail destinations. These window installations extend the narrative introduced through Antonin Tron’s debut collection and campaign, bringing his vision to life in a way that invites audiences to experience the house beyond the runway. From the collection and campaign to the in-store experience and these iconic Fifth Avenue windows, every touchpoint reflects a unified creative language, while also celebrating the strength of our enduring collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman and our shared commitment to delivering an exceptional luxury experience.”

Conceived under the creative direction of artist Jeanne Briand, the window installation transforms Bergdorf’s Fifth Avenue facade into an atmospheric gallery displaying the new Balmain aesthetic. Raw steel benches and earth-hewn folding screens, crafted from printed satin developed exclusively from Balmain’s archival prints, are juxtaposed against thick carpeting. The contrast allows the rich materials and craftsmanship of the fall 2026 collection to take center stage, according to Bergdorf’s.

“Bergdorf Goodman’s windows are the ultimate canvas for creativity, bringing fashion to life in unexpected ways,” said Linda Fargo, senior vice president office and store presentation at Bergdorf’s. “We are thrilled to celebrate Balmain’s new creative era through a captivating installation that reflects the house’s rich heritage while introducing our customers to Antonin Tron’s modern perspective.”

Inspired by founder Pierre Balmain, Tron’s debut fall 2026 collection was defined by architectural tailoring, fluid draping, artisanal craftsmanship and tactile luxury.

The windows went up on Wednesday.

As reported, Balmain was highly visible in Paris during Paris Couture Week, even though it didn’t stage a show. Earlier this month, about 1,000 bus shelters, kiosks and subway entrances introduced Tron’s first campaign for the French house, a “cinematic” effort with a nod to strong female characters in the film noir genre. The campaign was part of a full-court press around Tron’s debut fall 2026 collection, which included dedicated windows in a similar mood. July 8 was the official launch date for the fall 2026 collection in Balmain stores, but its Paris boutiques on Rue Saint-Honoré and Rue François-1er were to receive the clothes and leather goods July 3, in tandem with the outdoor campaign.

When he showed his first effort in Paris in March, WWD reported that Tron’s collection was a “more approachable Balmain, with low-key fashion fierceness, and a much darker palette and spirit in line with his ‘film noir’ theme.” The designer touched on house codes like gold, military and dense embellishment in measured dollops, while also adding his expertise with sensual draping. “The clothes were polished and assured, toggling between tough chic and softer, cocktail and evening dresses with an ’80s vibe,” WWD’s Miles Socha reported in his review.
