To mark the start of New York Fashion Week, eBay will unveil Endless Runway: The Archive, a one-night retrospective celebrating the designers, garments and defining moments that have shaped NYFW and American fashion history.
Building on eBay’s global Endless Runway initiative, and in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the event will feature an immersive, storytelling-led exhibition of more than 150 rare and archival pieces by American designers, sourced by eBay, alongside pieces contributed by some of fashion’s best-known American designers and fashion houses.

At the center of the experience is an eBay Live auction, hosted by Jenna Lyons. Streamed live from the exhibition, the auction will feature designs contributed directly from the archives of Calvin Klein Collection, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors Collection, Proenza Schouler, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang and Willy Chavarria, among others. EBay Live participants will hear from industry voices on the cultural significance behind each piece as they are auctioned.

Curated by editor and stylist Carlos Nazario, Endless Runway: The Archive explores key chapters of American fashion, from the glamour and liberation of the 1970s and the rise of American sportswear to ’90s minimalism and grunge, the global influence of American designers at European houses, and the voices shaping New York fashion today.
Additional exhibition highlights sourced from eBay include archival pieces by Anna Sui, Bob Mackie, Donna Karan, Halston, Isaac Mizrahi, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Todd Oldham, Tom Ford and Virgil Abloh, among others.
In addition to special contributions from designers, all pieces featured in the exhibition were sourced from eBay and styled by eBay’s resident stylist Brie Welch, with proceeds from the eBay Live auction benefiting the CFDA.
Endless Runway: The Archive will be streamed on eBay Live on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at ebay.com/thearchive.
