Hermès is bringing its Petit H concept to Honolulu.
An installation for the company’s luxury upcycled collection will make an appearance within the Hermès full-line store in the Ala Moana Center from Aug. 7-23. It will be introduced by Godefroy de Virieu, Petit H’s artistic director, alongside local artist Marques Hanalei Marzan who created colorful, geometric patterns for the space in a nod to Hawaiian culture.
Among the special pieces that will be on display in the store are freestanding shelves in the shape of a horse constructed from leather-clad maple wood and finished with a crystal bud vase. There will also be terracotta jars, a leather globe, a yellow Soleil d’Hermès porcelain vase and an azure surfboard. In addition, a fringed horsebits swing made from oak and calf leather and a skateboard wicker basket will also be part of the mix in Hawaii.

In this refined atmosphere, the new Petit H creations we present here are highlighted by lines of graphic and colorful geometric shapes. For me, the choice of an artist or set designer is always guided by local culture, in connection with our values of reusing natural materials.”

Petit H was launched in 2010 and the workshop in the Parisian suburb of Pantin takes the brand’s leftover leather, silk, metal, crystal and porcelain and repurposes them into playful new pieces.
