BLAZER HERO: Marella has tapped Irina Shayk to spotlight its new Hero Blazer design, a single-breasted jacket the brand is betting big on by coming up with different iterations.
Many of these are displayed in a new campaign set to officially launch later this week, for which Shayk was called upon to express the style’s precise yet lightweight construction and styling potential.

The defining element of the design is a removable scarf, a detail intended to emphasize the sense of lightness and effortlessness of the tailored silhouette. Crafted in the same fabric as the garment or in coordinating ones spanning from silk twill to silk habotai embellished with lace inlays, the scarf flows along the jacket, amplifying its movement.
Overall, the different interpretations offer versions in materials ranging from velvet to leather, and rendered either in classic shades of black, white or camel and in checkered styles.

In showing off the sartorial prowess of the brand, Shayk follows in the footsteps of the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Stella Maxwell, who both not only appeared in Marella campaigns but also co-designed capsule collections last year.
Part of Dedimax, a subsidiary of Max Mara Fashion Group focused on the contemporary sector, Marella has more than 250 stand-alone stores and a presence at 1,200 multibrand retailers worldwide. It has been in expansion mode distribution-wise over the last few years, opening units across Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East, as reported. Most recently it cut the ribbon on its first store in the U.K., unveiling a location at 8 Marylebone High Street in London in April.
