JW Anderson Opens a Pop-up in Paris, a Prelude to Bigger Retail Moves

BONJOUR, PARIS: Jonathan Anderson is taking his JW Anderson brand on a trip to Paris with a three-month pop-up store at 15 Rue du Louvre that opens on Thursday.

It will feature a selection of Anderson’s fall 2026 men’s and womenswear, as well as curated pieces from the brand’s home and garden offering.

The store spans 1,830 square feet and the interiors concept was developed by architects Sanchez Benton, who also worked on the brand’s London and Milan flagships. There are warm materials and colors “that embody the feeling of the handmade, and exquisitely crafted.”

Objects on offer will include reeditions of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s lamps and stools in Scottish oak; Jason Mosseri’s Hope Spring Chairs; ceramics by Akiko Hirai; handpicked books and antique gardening tools; Lucie Rie mugs; handmade Murano glassware; Welsh blankets; hand-forged nails; Houghton Hall Estate honey, and one of the designer’s favorite drinks, coffee-flavored tea from Postcard Teas.

The offer mirrors that of the brand’s Soho and Pimlico Road stores in London, and the store in Milan’s Golden Triangle where the focus is on heritage, craft and things “I like and would like to have around me,” the designer said.

As always, the collections and objects showcase different countries’ crafts and expertise. The denim is made in Japan, historic silk damask fabric is woven in England, knits are from Scotland, while the linen is from Ireland.

The pop-up is a prelude to something more permanent in Paris, an important city for JW Anderson.

“The pop-up allows us to establish a presence in the city while we continue to identify the right long-term location for the brand, and to engage directly with our Parisian customers in the meantime,” the brand said.

Last year Anderson, the creative director of Dior, shifted the focus of his signature label from fashion to lifestyle and let his passion for art, design and functional objects rip. JW Anderson is now about seasonless fashion and home interiors with a focus on craft, heritage and collaboration with artisans and suppliers.

Anderson told WWD in an interview that his focus is now on one-off objects, limited-edition pieces and a “slow-moving feast” of creativity and ideas. “It’s all my obsessions” in one place, he said, adding that “if we sell something, I want it to be beautifully executed by the right craftsman, by the right person.”
