MARKING 100: British Fashion Council chief executive officer Laura Weir is working hard to get the London band back together.
Marks & Spencer has become the latest big-name brand to join the London Fashion Week calendar in September, after Alexander McQueen and Mulberry, designed by Christopher Kane, confirmed they will show their spring 2027 collections.
M&S plans to stage a see now, buy now show of womenswear and menswear. The fall range will be available for purchase online, in M&S flagships in the U.K. and key international markets. The store is showing as part of its 100-year anniversary and will undoubtedly be using the LFW stage to promote its collections in international markets.
As reported, M&S has partnered with Nordstrom to sell a selection of womenswear from the Per Una, Collection and other in-house labels. The clothing is selling online and through 30 Nordstrom stores from Los Angeles to New York. M&S has also forged a fashion wholesale partnership with David Jones in Australia.

M&S CEO Stuart Machin said: “This is a special moment. For 100 years M&S fashion has been part of everyday life and now we will showcase our designs on fashion’s global stage.”
He added that M&S’ presence at London Fashion Week “builds on the M&S summer show and our world-first, pit lane catwalk at the Silverstone British Grand Prix. We look forward to our first LFW show in September and launching our new collection to everyone.”
Weir said “as one of the great icons of the British high street, and a valued patron of the British Fashion Council, M&S has played an important role in the nation’s retail and cultural story for generations.” She described the shoppable show as “a powerful example of how fashion can inspire, engage and reach audiences far beyond the runway.”
