Maitrepierre Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

Alphonse Maitrepierre opted for a presentation format to showcase his continued exploration in circular design and a fashion film in which an Alice in Wonderland-inspired show takes place inside a handbag.

The designer looked to the ’60s French movement Narrative Figuration and early Pop Art for inspiration, and collaborated with his brother, Gaspard, for lively tiger prints.

The collection, as usual, was a mix and match of contemporary wardrobing with couture techniques lace with bits of humor.

“It was really the idea of taking some things from everyday life and elevating them into something a bit more artistic,” said the designer, pointing to a dress made from deadstock lace with a wide peplum meant to evoke a picture frame.

Other playful iterations include cardigan dotted with buttons for a pixel effect, denim pieces shaped, washed and then pleated into tactile forms, and one dress made with 75 meters of reclaimed fabric laser-cut into feather-like pieces.

That sense of invention is matched by resourcefulness. Recycled and deadstock materials run throughout the collection.
